De bijzondere formatie Cold Void, een samenwerkingsverband tussen voormalig Aux Raus muzikant en filmer Luuk Bouwman en Internetkunstenaar Rafaël Rozendaal, maakt een nieuwe versie van hun automata installatie voor GOGBOT. Hierin speelt een automatische xylofoon, een soort pianola maar dan in xylofoonvorm, de muziek van Cold Void gecombineerd met projecties van de video’s die Rozendaal voor elk nummer maakte. Tijdens een tentoonstelling in Los Angeles hebben de kunstenaars een soortgelijke opstelling gehad met een pianola. Het warme geluid van een piano past echter minder goed bij Cold Void. Daarbij werden in Los Angeles vanwege de lichte ruimte geen video’s geprojecteerd maar waren door Rozendaal ontworpen platenhoezen op de muur bevestigd. De video’s zijn echter een onlosmakelijk deel van de band en creëren net als de muziek een bijna hypnotiserende ervaring. GOGBOT toont de Cold Void installatie in een geheel nieuwe en verbeterde totaalversie!

The exceptional band Cold Void, collaboration between former Aux Raus member Luuk Bouwman and Internet artist Rafael Rozendaal, create a new version of their automata installation for GOGBOT. In it an automated xylophone, a kind of pianola or automated piano in the shape of a xylophone, plays the music by Cold Void in combination with projections of the video’s Rozendaal made for each track. The artists had a similar installation in an exhibition in Los Angeles, but with a piano. The warm sound of a piano turned out to not be the best choice for the music of Cold Void. The light exhibition space in Los Angeles did not allow for projections, so a wall with Cold Void album covers was presented behind the piano instead. The video’s however are just as important as the music of Cold Void. They create a similar hypnotic experience. GOGBOT presents the Cold Void installation in a new and improved complete version!
